Robots could be people’s new gardening assistant and help people maintain a garden. While people make decisions to design the garden, robots can do the more menial tasks of cleaning, maintaining the vegetation growth, watering the plants, etc. These robots could reduce the time spent by people worrying about the repetitive aspects of gardening, reduce effort spent to manually do it and focus spending time doing the qualitative aspects of gardening. Robots can also be deployed by government authorities to maintain public gardens. This would lead to better maintenance of public spaces at a lower cost.
Societal Impact
Gardening might be a more enjoyable pursuit for people as the manual efforts will be reduced while creativity of people can blossom through planning of plants and vegetation.
Robots might inspire more people to have a garden.
