Guide Robot

Can robots guide people around cities to provide a safe and secure walking experience?

Deserted and spooky areas in cities could lead to an increased crime rate due to the absence of eyes on the street. In order to secure areas for people to safely walk from one location to another within cities, robots could provide a great support system. Robots could walk alongside an individual and monitor the surroundings for imminent threats. It can then detect any unfortunate event and report it to relevant legal and security agencies to take action upon. This system can manage to get better data through images and recordings of any event which could be used for further analysis.

Societal Impact

  1. Secure neighborhood walking experience.
  2. Improved quality of life in cities for citizens.
  3. Better security management for government authorities.
