Mobility Tracker

Can we use autonomous systems and robots to gain better data enabled insights into urban mobility?

Mobility tracking could lead to making better decisions by government authorities through connecting it to urban data analytics platforms. With this technology we can count the number of vehicles passing by on roads in cities. This data can be used to solve lot of issues that cities face such as pollution, traffic congestion, parking space availability and many more. Collecting data can be digitised and automated using tracking technology.

Societal Impact

  1. The data collected on mobility in cities can be used to understand what are the travel patterns, what is the average amount of vehicular movement on a given day, which types of vehicles transit the roads and much more.
  2. This data can inform the appropriate authorities to make accurate decisions regarding mobility management.
  3. This in turn will create a more vibrant city for people resulting out of data backed decisions.
  4. This can also have a contribution to develop sustainable cities with pollution monitoring systems connected to mobility tracking system.
