Robotic Air Cleaner Tree

Can we create robotic trees that purify air in cities with more efficiency?  

Cleaning of air requires more efficiency in cities to create better environments. New technology of robotic trees developed can contribute in this direction. These would not replace natural trees but would complement them. As these trees could operate around the clock and could filter out different types of particulate matter, they could be more effective than regular trees that function when there is sunlight available. Hence these robotic trees provide a good option to maintain a high urban air quality.

Societal Impact

  1. Can lead to cleaner urban air quality resulting in improvement in people’s health. 
  2. Can help cater to lack of trees in urban areas resulting from lack of space for growth.
